In July of 1976, Dr. Dennis Laub purchased Genoa Family Eyecare from Dr. Ramey Dick and moved it to 626 Main Street in 1978. In 2009, Dr Kegerize purchased the practice and moved it to its current location at 603 Main Street in 2015.
Dr. William Kegerize
Dr. Kegerize is a 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry, and a lifetime resident of NW Ohio. Following his graduation, Dr. Kegerize elected to pursue advanced training in disease management at The Eye Center of Toledo where he completed a one year Ocular Disease Residency. During the course of his residency he co-managed thousands of patients with various eye disorders including; diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. His experience was extensive in the area of refractive surgery co-management.
In 2015, Dr. Kegerize re-engaged himself into a rigorous examination process and achieved the rare distinction of Diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a member, past Governor and liaison of several committees of the Ohio Optometric Association, along with being a member of both the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Foundation.
Dr. Kegerize prides himself on volunteerism and has been an InfantSEE leader in Northwest Ohio for over a decade. He is also a RealEyes volunteer, bringing eye safety presentations and free vision screenings to over 500 Genoa and surrounding area children each year. He is the past President and active board member of the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Kegerize resides in Curtice, Ohio with his wife Teresa and daughters Lily, Alina, Kate and Kira. They are members of St Jerome’s Catholic Church. Dr. Kegerize enjoys; coaching, camping, golfing, classic cars and of course, is an avid Buckeyes fan!
